CCA
Co-curricular activities (CCAs) are the components of the non-academic curriculum that helps to develop various facets of the personality development of the child and students. Co-curricular activities are those activities that are undertaken along with academic studies. These activities help students to develop problem-solving, reasoning, critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, and collaborative abilities.
Co-curricular activities in school are compulsory in the form such as music, art, or drama classes, participating in a school debating teams etc. In all cases, participation helps students in emotional development, social skill development, and overall personality development. These activities provide students with opportunities to express themselves, build confidence, and develop social skills that are essential for their development, and it is important to consider them as a crucial part of the education.
Therefore, the importance of co-curricular activities is immense.
When theoretical curriculum and co-curricular activities are integrated, the chance of learning more and exploring ones strengths, interests, and abilities becomes higher. Therein lies the importance of co-curricular activities, which are supplementary to the theoretical curriculum.
Therefore, holistic development cannot deny the key role and importance of co-curricular activities. Keeping this in view, RIS conducted various CCA activities for the students, throughout these years which included, poem recitation, storytelling, character talk, elocution, extempore, debate, solo dance, solo song, instrument playing, drawing, painting, craft making, photography etc. These activities are compulsory for all the students to do at classroom level wherein they compete within their peers and the best of them go for the final round where they compete within the groups. Judges within the school and from outside the school are invited to give a fair result. Lot of thinking process is also added in inviting the judges who are from various walks of society and are experienced as well as enthusiastic to help the students to learn. This boosts their confidence level and helps the students to overcome their stage fear, and the correct ways to represent themselves. Let’s take a glimpse of various activities happened so far…….
